1. What is Insitee?

Insitee is an AI website widget and dashboard platform that lets you create a project, crawl and index your website pages, and provide instant automated answers to visitors. It also helps you collect leads and review conversations in one place.

2. How does the AI widget work?

You install one widget script on your site, and a chat button appears for visitors. When someone asks a question, the widget sends the message to Insitee, which uses your indexed pages to generate a relevant answer and return it in the chat.

3. How does Insitee learn information from my website?

After you add your website in the dashboard, Insitee crawls available pages, extracts text content, and stores it as indexed pages in your project knowledge base. The AI then uses this indexed content to answer questions.

4. Does Insitee use AI?

Insitee uses AI capabilities for chat responses. In practical terms, the widget behavior is similar to LLM-style conversation, but answers are grounded in your crawled website content.

5. What types of websites does Insitee support?

Insitee supports most public websites where you can add a script snippet, including business websites, SaaS landing pages, agency sites, e-commerce stores, and documentation or service pages.

6. Can I use Insitee with WordPress?

Yes. You can use Insitee with WordPress by adding the widget script in your theme footer, site settings, or a header/footer code plugin so it loads before the closing </body> tag.

7. Can I use Insitee with Shopify?

Yes. You can install the widget code in your Shopify theme files or theme custom code area, then crawl your storefront pages so the AI can answer product and policy questions.

8. Can I use Insitee with Tilda or Webflow?

Yes. Tilda and Webflow are supported when custom code injection is available. Paste the widget snippet into the global custom code area and publish your site.

9. Does Insitee support multilingual websites?

Yes. Insitee can index multilingual website content and, on supported plans, provide multi-language AI responses so visitors can ask questions in different languages.

10. What languages does the widget support?

The widget can respond in major languages when content is available in indexed pages. Language coverage depends on your site content and plan capabilities, with stronger multilingual support in higher plans.

Setup & Installation

11. How do I install the widget on my website?

Create a project in the Insitee dashboard, copy your widget script, and paste it into your website before </body>. Then publish your site and test the chat button on live pages.

12. Where do I paste the widget code?

Paste the code in your global site template or footer so it loads on all pages. The safest location is right before the closing </body> tag.

13. Can I install Insitee without coding?

Usually yes. Most website builders and CMS tools provide a custom code field where you can paste the snippet without editing complex code.

14. How long does setup take?

Basic setup usually takes a few minutes: create project, add website URL, start crawl, insert script, and verify the widget. Full indexing time depends on website size.

15. How do I scan my website?

Open your project in the dashboard and run crawl/indexing for your domain. Insitee will discover accessible pages and add them to your indexed pages list.

16. Why are some pages missing after crawling?

Pages may be missing if they are blocked by robots rules, behind login, not linked, rendered only client-side, or have crawl restrictions. Add internal links or manually add important URLs for indexing.

17. Can I manually add pages to indexing?

Yes. If automatic crawl misses a page, you can add specific URLs in the dashboard so they are included in indexed pages for AI retrieval.

18. How often is website content updated?

Indexed content is updated when you run new crawls or re-indexing. If your website changes often, schedule regular re-scans to keep answers current.

19. Can I re-scan my website?

Yes. You can re-scan and re-index your project whenever needed to refresh pages, include newly published content, and improve answer accuracy.

20. Does Insitee work with dynamically generated websites?

It works with many dynamic websites, but crawl quality depends on whether the final content is accessible to crawlers. Server-rendered or prerendered pages are typically indexed more reliably.

Widget Customization

21. How do I change the widget color?

Use widget customization settings in your dashboard to update color/theme values. Save changes and reload your site to see the updated chat button and interface colors.

22. How do I customize the widget button icon?

In supported widget customization options, you can choose or configure the launcher icon style. Availability depends on your plan and current widget settings.

23. How do I change the welcome message?

Open your project settings and edit the widget greeting/welcome text. This message is shown when visitors open the chat widget for the first time.

24. How do I rename the AI assistant?

In widget settings, update the assistant display name to match your brand. The new name appears in the chat header and conversation context where supported.

25. Can I hide “Powered by Insitee”?

This is available in supported paid plans when branding controls are enabled. If your current plan does not show this option, upgrade or check plan availability in billing settings.

26. Can I change the widget language?

Yes. You can configure widget language behavior and multilingual responses depending on plan features and your indexed content languages.

27. Can I customize the widget position?

Yes. The widget can typically be placed in common screen corners. Position options are managed in widget settings and applied to the installed script.

28. Does the widget work on mobile devices?

29. Can I use my own branding?

AI & Lead Generation

31. How does Insitee answer questions?

Insitee uses AI retrieval over your indexed pages. It finds relevant website content from the crawl and generates a concise answer in the widget conversation.

32. What happens if the AI does not know the answer?

If indexed content is insufficient, the assistant can return a fallback response, suggest contacting your team, or request lead details so you can follow up manually.

33. Can the widget collect leads?

Yes. Insitee includes lead capture so the widget can request visitor details like name, email, and inquiry when appropriate.

34. How do lead forms work?

Lead forms are presented inside chat flows. Visitors submit contact information, and the lead is saved to your dashboard for review and follow-up.

35. Can I receive leads in Telegram?

Yes. You can connect Telegram integrations and receive lead notifications in near real time when new leads are captured.

36. Can I receive leads by email?

Yes. Email notifications are supported so your team can receive lead alerts and respond quickly.

37. Can I view conversation history?

Insitee offers Free, Starter, Pro, and Business plans with different limits for websites, indexed pages, features, and support.

42. What is included in the FREE plan?

Free includes 1 website, up to 10 indexed pages, up to 50 messages, basic AI chat, lead capture, and email support.

43. What is included in the STARTER plan?

Starter includes 1 website, up to 100 indexed pages, basic AI chat, lead capture, and email support.

44. What is included in the PRO plan?

Pro includes 5 websites, up to 1,000 indexed pages, multi-language AI, lead capture, widget customization, and priority support.

45. What is included in the BUSINESS plan?

Business includes unlimited websites, unlimited pages, advanced AI instructions, multi-language AI, lead capture, widget customization, analytics coming soon, and priority support.

46. How many websites can I connect?

Plan limits apply: Free and Starter support 1 website, Pro supports 5 websites, and Business supports unlimited websites.

47. Are there limits on messages or visitors?

Yes, limits can vary by plan. Free includes up to 50 messages; higher plans provide larger usage capacity and broader scaling for traffic and conversations.

48. Can I upgrade my plan later?

Yes. You can upgrade from the billing section in your dashboard to unlock more indexed pages, websites, and advanced features.

49. Can I cancel my subscription anytime?

Yes. You can manage or cancel your subscription from billing settings, with access continuing according to your active billing period.

50. Do you offer a free trial?

You can start with the Free plan to test core functionality. Additional trial or promo options may be available in selected campaigns.

Security / Technical

51. Is my data secure?

Insitee applies standard security practices to protect account, widget, and dashboard data. As with any SaaS tool, users should also use strong credentials and proper access controls.

52. Does Insitee store customer data?

Insitee stores necessary project data such as indexed pages, conversation history, and leads so the widget can function and your team can manage follow-up.

53. Can I use Insitee on private/internal websites?

Insitee works best on publicly accessible pages for crawl/indexing. Private or internal websites may require special access setup and can have indexing limitations.

54. Does the widget affect website speed?

The widget is designed to be lightweight. In most cases performance impact is minimal, especially when script placement follows installation recommendations.

55. Is coding knowledge required?

56. Does Insitee work with React and Next.js websites?

Yes. Insitee works with React and Next.js websites as long as the widget script is included in the rendered site layout and pages are crawlable/indexable.

57. Does Insitee support custom domains?

Yes. You can use Insitee on websites with custom domains, and each connected domain can be crawled and managed as a project in your dashboard.

58. Can I use Insitee with Google Tag Manager?

Yes, many users install the widget through Google Tag Manager by adding the script as a custom HTML tag and publishing it to the target site.

59. Does Insitee support GDPR?

Insitee is designed to support GDPR-aware workflows, including data handling transparency and account controls. You should also configure your site consent and legal notices appropriately.

60. Can I delete my account and data?

Yes. You can request account deletion and related data removal from account settings and the dedicated account deletion flow.
